ANDERSON’S BAY SCHOOL TRAMPS IT’S WAY TO THE ONE MILLION CLUB

Congratulations to Anderson Bay for reaching One Million Answers

Anderson’s Bay School, based in central Dunedin is a decile 10 School with over 320, year 1-6 students. Anderson’s Bay School has been established since 1858 (coming up to their 160th birthday!) and has undergone many changes since it began.  The oldest remaining structure is their school hall, which was built in 1894.  Currently the school operates within 13 classrooms, 12 are currently used as classroom teaching spaces.

It’s no wonder Anderson Bay School has reached the 1 million club with a purpose built ICT suite, housing 30 computers, a variety of “breakout” spaces, allowing individuals, groups and classes to use the new and existing areas in a wide variety of ways, with ready access to all areas of the school via a lift to the top story.

As an environmentally focused school Anderson’s Bay students manage, prepare and harvest a wide range of produce, including vegetables and free range eggs, from their very own chickens.

The lucky students at Anderson’s Bay School have a new “playscape”  opened in December last year, this includes sandpits, “meerkat tunnels”, logs, a small stage for lunchtime performances, a climbing wall, a slide and an edible garden. The playscape was designed and  based on ideas that had come directly from the pupils.

In order to get to the magic 1 million mark Anderson’s Bay School as a whole, have a 28.7% average improvement rate on their maths and literacy skills, 10 Skoolbo Super Champs individuals who have answered 10,000 question plus and over 12,400 personal bests.

A warm Skoolbo welcome to the 1 million club.
